Question: What is the Security Director Program™?
David E. Zeldin's Answer:
When a company has between 40 and 400 employees, they usually find themselves in the
untenable position of being too large to ignore Security and too small to have a full time
Corporate Security staff. Usually, each vendor becomes the "Security Consultant"
for that product or service. Unfortunately, there is no one truly protecting the company.
More than fifteen years ago I began solving that very problem. The method is simple and
the program is simple to understand. The CEO of the client firm appoints me as the
Corporate Director of Security/Safety and Risk Management. The client's employees are then
led to believe that my staff and I are actually on the firm's payroll and performing the
functions of a proprietary Security/Safety/Risk Management Department. The client company
will then be alleviated of the responsibilities and some of the liability of Physical
Security (locks and key control; alarms and access control; CCTV; information
security; security barriers, etc.), Internal Security (personnel practices; pre and
post-employment considerations; background investigations; drug and alcohol abuse;
employee dishonesty and undercover investigations, etc.), Safety (OSHA Compliance,
etc.), and Risk Management (cost-effective reduction of insurance premiums and
losses, and/or increased coverage). You are now much closer to increasing your bottom line
and being able to say that your Corporate Director of Security/Safety and Risk Management
is: David E. Zeldin, M.P.S., CFE, CFC, CSC, DABFE, ABLEE, FACFEi.
